Description
The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations – Sweeping, Cleaning, Clearing is designed for operators working with road sweepers or other plant used for site or highway cleaning, who hold a red trained operator card under CPCS or NPORS. Completion of this qualification enables you to upgrade to a blue competent operator card, verifying your ability to operate safely and effectively in live site conditions.
Assessment is based on your day-to-day responsibilities — such as operating the sweeping equipment, carrying out pre-use checks, managing debris collection and disposal, working around pedestrians or vehicles, and following health, safety, and environmental controls.
You’ll be assessed entirely in your working environment through observation, professional discussion, and evidence including risk assessments, maintenance records, and photos or video footage of your work. No exams or classroom sessions are required.
This NVQ ensures your real-world skills are recognised and supports your progression within the CPCS or NPORS card schemes.
