The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations – Loading and Securing is designed for plant operators or transport operatives who already hold a red trained operator card under CPCS or NPORS. This NVQ allows you to upgrade to a blue competent operator card, demonstrating your ability to load, position, and secure plant and equipment safely for transport.
You’ll be assessed in your real working environment while carrying out tasks such as preparing plant for loading, using appropriate securing equipment, complying with weight distribution requirements, and ensuring all loads are safe and legal for road transport. The qualification covers both wheeled and tracked plant machinery.
Assessment is based entirely on evidence from your daily work, including direct observation, professional discussion, and documentation such as load plans, risk assessments, photographs, and videos. There are no exams or classroom sessions.
Completing this NVQ confirms your competence and supports compliance with plant and logistics safety standards, enabling you to upgrade your CPCS or NPORS card to the blue competent operator level.
