The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations – Cranes and Specialist Lifting (Mobile Crane) is designed for operators who already hold a red trained operator card under CPCS or NPORS and are actively working with mobile cranes. Completing this qualification upgrades your card to a blue competent operator card, formally recognising your on-site competence.
This work-based qualification assesses your ability to operate a mobile crane safely and efficiently in line with lifting plans and site requirements. You’ll be assessed through observation, professional discussion, and supporting evidence such as daily checks, lift plans, and risk assessments — all drawn from your day-to-day work.
