Description
The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations – Agricultural Tractor is aimed at operators who currently hold a red trained operator card under CPCS or NPORS and are looking to upgrade to a blue competent operator card. This qualification proves your ability to safely and competently operate agricultural tractors in a construction, land-based, or industrial setting.
Assessment focuses on real workplace activities, including manoeuvring, transporting materials, coupling and uncoupling attachments, performing pre-use checks, and complying with site safety protocols and legal requirements.
The qualification is assessed entirely in the workplace using methods such as observation, professional discussion, and supporting evidence like maintenance records, task sheets, and photographic or video evidence. There are no exams or classroom sessions — your existing work forms the basis of your portfolio.
Completing this NVQ provides formal recognition of your competence and supports progression under the CPCS or NPORS scheme to a blue competent operator card.
