Description
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations – 360 Excavator is designed for experienced operators of tracked or wheeled excavators who already hold a red trained operator card under CPCS or NPORS. This qualification enables you to upgrade to a blue competent operator card, confirming your ability to operate a 360 excavator safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current industry standards.
Assessment takes place in your normal working environment, covering tasks such as trenching, grading, lifting, loading, and digging. You’ll also demonstrate awareness of safe working practices, pre-use checks, risk assessments, and communication with other site personnel.
There are no exams or classroom sessions. Your portfolio is built using live site observation, professional discussions, and supporting evidence such as RAMs, daily checklist, maintenance records, and photographs or video footage. This NVQ offers a clear and flexible route to competency recognition within the plant sector.
