The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Maintenance (Construction) is suitable for plant fitters, maintenance operatives and others whose work involves servicing and repairing construction plant and equipment.
What does the qualification cover?
- Servicing and maintaining plant and equipment.
- Removing, replacing, dismantling and assembling components.
- Routine inspections to check operational serviceability.
- Diagnosing faults in systems and components.
- Maintaining a safe, organised maintenance work area.
Optional units reflect your duties, such as testing equipment, installation, welding repairs or handover activities.
How will I be assessed?
You will build a portfolio using evidence from your work. Assessment includes workplace observation, professional discussion, supporting documents, witness testimony and knowledge questions. Your assessor will guide you through the evidence requirements.
CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card
Successful completion supports an application for a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card for the relevant occupation. You must also meet the applicable CSCS application and health, safety and environment test requirements. The card requires a separate application.
