This qualification is ideal for those seeking to demonstrate their competence, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and progress their career in roofing.
Through this NVQ, you’ll showcase your ability to prepare roofing surfaces, install and repair single-ply or multi-layer waterproof membrane systems, apply insulation, and ensure compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations. You’ll also demonstrate skills in working to specifications, using roofing tools and equipment effectively, and maintaining quality workmanship.
Assessment is carried out in your workplace through a combination of on-site observation, professional discussion, witness testimony, and portfolio evidence. No classroom-based exams are required—assessment is based entirely on your practical skills and knowledge in a real working environment.
This qualification provides a recognised route for roofing operatives to achieve CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue) Card status, supporting career development and employability within the construction sector.
The maximum timescale for this qualification is 12 months, however it can be completed in as little as 4 weeks.
