Description
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Cladding Occupations is designed for construction operatives who are directly involved in the installation and maintenance of cladding systems on buildings and structures. This qualification is ideal for those wishing to demonstrate their competence, achieve a nationally recognised qualification, and progress their career within the cladding sector of the construction industry.
Through this NVQ, you will demonstrate your ability to prepare surfaces, install and fix cladding materials, apply weatherproofing systems, and finish work to specification. You’ll also show competence in interpreting drawings, working safely at height, handling cladding components, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and health and safety requirements.
Assessment is carried out in your workplace and is based entirely on real work performance. Evidence is gathered through on-site observation, professional discussion, witness testimony, and portfolio submission. There are no written exams—your competence is proven through your practical skills and knowledge.
Successful completion of this qualification supports applications for the CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue) Card, providing formal recognition of your skills and enhancing career progression opportunities in cladding occupations and external building finishes.
The maximum timescale for this qualification is 12 months, however it can be completed in as little as 4 weeks.
