Description
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Interior Systems is aimed at construction operatives who install and maintain a wide range of interior systems, including partitions, dry lining, and suspended ceilings. This qualification is ideal for those seeking to demonstrate their competence, achieve a nationally recognised qualification, and progress within the construction industry.
Through this NVQ, you will demonstrate your ability to prepare work areas, interpret drawings, and install interior system components to specification. This may include fixing metal stud partitions, installing dry lining systems, applying finishes, fitting suspended ceilings, and carrying out related repair or maintenance work. You will also show competence in using tools and equipment effectively, working to health and safety standards, and delivering quality workmanship.
Assessment takes place in your workplace and is based on your day-to-day role. Evidence is collected through on-site observation, professional discussion, witness testimony, and portfolio submission. There are no written exams—competence is assessed entirely through your practical skills and knowledge in a real working environment.
Successful completion of this qualification supports applications for the CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue) Card, providing formal industry recognition of your skills and enhancing career progression within the construction and interior systems sector.
The maximum timescale for this qualification is 12 months, however it can be completed in as little as 4 weeks.
